Rental Terms and Conditions
Thanks for choosing to rent from us, we hope we can make it as easy as possible to clock in a good session.
We ask you to note and adhere to the following terms and conditions alongside the completion of a standard medical form.
Rental Process
1. Having signed in at Poseidon you will be issued equipment and given 15 minutes courtesy time to start your session.
2. Your session will stop when the bar/paddle/board is returned to Poseidon.
3. Your session time will be rounded to the nearest 15 minutes and charged when you finish.
Personal Responsibility
Renting equipment is done so entirely at your own risk and liability. By signing this form You agree to take full responsibility for actions to yourself, third party and the equipment you and others use.
Conditions and Safety
Safety is our number 1 priority, if any member of the Poseidon team feels it is no longer safe for an individual the rent due to conditions, ability, equipment, third party or behaviour we reserve the right to 'red flag' activity or cease individuals session. A decision on safety is final.
Safety equipment
All students will be offered safety clothing and given equipment which has been safety checked and maintained, it it the hirers responsibility to familiarise themselves with safety systems and kit, choosing themselves when it is appropriate to use it.
Kitesurf rental
1. rental is permitted to "independent / level 2 riders" who have been signed off by a Poseidon instructor as being cable of controlling themselves and their equipment in fair conditions and general scenarios.
2. Third party insurance is mandatory to rent kitesurf equipment, it is available from the BKSA and we will need a record before you can take equipment.
3. No kite flying is to take place within 50 meters of the road under any circumstances.
4. Extra care should be taken when launching and landing.
5. The riding rules of the ride should be followed at all times to avoid collisions (do not pass between a rider and their kite).
6. Beginner riders should stay at least 50 meters upwind of experienced riders.
7. Riders should only ride within their limits.
Wingfoil rental
1. Rental is permitted to individuals who have completed basic training on the equipment they are renting.
2. persons renting must stay within eyesight of Poseidon HQ.
3. A board leash must be worn at all times.
4. Suitable depth of water must be used.
5. Care must be taken to avoid other water users.

Paddle board rental
1. Rental is permitted to individuals who have a basic level of skill or received basic training in paddle sportss.
2. Persons renting must stay within eyesight of Poseidon HQ.
3. A leash and/or buoyancy aid must be worn at all times.
4. Rental will not be permitted in strong offshore winds.
5. A basic level of swimming ability is required to rent independently. Non swimming minors can rent board alongside a parent / guardian.
Equipment damage
Any damage caused to equipment will be charged to the hirer at the cost of the repair or replacement. This might include (but is not limited to: broken lines, split kites, torn wings, dinged boards, lost equipment or tangled lines). We would not consider fair wear and tear to be your responsibility.
